Safety in state institutions and facilities is a necessary parameter for the smooth operation of institutions that serve the public in a given state. Wherever there is a real risk to the health and lives of individuals or property, various tools are employed to ensure safety, ranging from physical security of the premises to complex intelligent systems that allow for quick responses to neutralize risks.
One of the important components of a comprehensive solution is camera systems, which enable the monitoring of current events within and around the facility while also providing the possibility of securing evidence for later incident evaluation.
This customer also addressed the replacement of an outdated camera system, seeking to leverage the capabilities of new modern technologies and upgrade the standard image transmission system to an intelligent system that can help identify risky situations and alert designated personnel. The use of higher resolution and digital processing adds value in today's rapidly evolving technological landscape.
The investor selected a system integrator based on a public tender, who has extensive experience with installations of similar projects. Moreover, the proposed solution is not their first successful collaboration.
The customer had clear criteria during the inquiry, which brought new challenges to the project. Given the age of the building, minimal disruption to the structure was required. Technologically, the camera system needed to be modern, with a variety of possible intelligent and analytical functions. The components were expected to have a long lifespan, focusing on reputable manufacturers.
Consideration also had to be given to the 24-hour service that would continuously operate the system, making it easier to use this solution compared to the existing system.
As part of a comprehensive security solution, it was necessary to enable system integration with other technical components, such as access control systems, vehicle license plate recognition, alarm systems, and more.
Such a solution would provide the user with a reliable and effective tool for quickly addressing unforeseen situations and for later retrieval or evaluation of incidents.
The implemented camera system is designed to meet the customer's requirements for a reliable and intelligent system, utilizing technologies from Bosch, Metel, Geutebrück, NEC, and Videotec for the core components.
At the heart of the system is the recording device from the German company Geutebrück, which offers a smart and sophisticated environment for connecting both cameras and control units. The system is also equipped with joystick controllers from the same manufacturer, allowing for comfortable operation of the system and pan-tilt-zoom (PTZ) cameras.
The installed Bosch cameras provide added value in terms of image quality and intelligent features, complemented by housings and infrared illuminators from the Italian manufacturer Videotec. This combination achieves high-quality images and enables the use of video for further analytical processing.
The entire system is supported by a data network made up of Metel components, which allow for connections via optical cables in a safer ring topology while also providing Power over Ethernet (PoE) to the cameras and other peripherals. With a long lifespan and integrated surge protection, Metel switches rank among the best in their field.
Everything is clearly and directly displayed on client stations with NEC monitors, which are designed for 24/7 use (24 hours a day, 7 days a week).
The innovation of the camera system has contributed to higher security for the user on the premises, provided simpler operation, offered higher quality video recordings, enabled the use of intelligent functions that automatically alert to potentially dangerous situations, and, last but not least, opened the door to deeper integration with other technologies in use.
